LaGrange Road Construction Update: Will It Be Done By Thanksgiving?
The latest news in the project to widen LaGrange Road.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin released a pretty enticing bit of news last month—he told residents that construction on all lanes of LaGrange Road would be finished by Thanksgiving.

179th Street to 159th Street
All lanes and intersections are open south of 159th Street. Additional striping, signing and lane markers in
the area of 159th Street and LaGrange Road will be installed in the coming week. Some work may be taking
place at night. Minor punch list items will be completed in early spring 2017.
159th Street to 143rd Street
All lanes and intersections will be open by Thanksgiving 2016. (Editor's note: If it were appropriate to insert an emoji here, it'd be the one with the really big grin. Or the one with the surprised face. Your pick.)

During the next week sidewalks, street lighting, retaining walls, signing, striping and topsoil placement will
be ongoing. Some striping work may be taking place at night. Lane closures are anticipated up to the
Thanksgiving Holiday.

FYI, for your Holiday Shopping Convenience
Traffic for the Christmas shopping season will hopefully be a little more bearable, as lane closures will not be permitted from Thanksgiving Day through January 1, 2017. Lane closures will be allowed again starting January 2, 2017.
Work remaining includes the installation of permanent traffic signals, sidewalks, tree planting, median
walls and landscaping, monument walls at various intersections, parkway landscaping, utility adjustments,
and miscellaneous restoration. Work will continue starting January 2, 2017; weather permitting.
