At Least 80 Without Power In Tinley Park After Storm: ComEd

​Tinley Park Police told Patch there was no severe damage, injuries or emergency service calls regarding the powerful storm.

TINLEY PARK, IL — At least 80 Tinley Park residents are without power after severe thunderstorms ripped through town late Sunday night, according to ComEd's outage map.

As of Monday morning, 21,925 customers were impacted by more than 290 outages in the area, ComEd reports.

In Tinley Park, crews are currently working to restore power for 27 customers near Harlem Avenue and 175th Street. About 53 more customers are still awaiting scheduling as of 8 a.m. Monday morning.

Tinley Park Police told Patch there was no severe damage, injuries or emergency calls regarding the powerful storm. Minor damage in the area can be seen, such as trash bins toppled over and slight tree damage.

Update: As of 9:52 a.m. on Monday, ComEd has restored power to one outage that affected 27 customers near Harlem Avenue and 175th Street. A reported 52 people are still without power, as ComEd is awaiting further assistance in an area close by.

After 11 p.m. Sunday night, The National Weather Service confirmed a damaging tornado touched down in Woodridge just after 11 p.m. In a Monday morning update, the National Weather Service said the tornado could be categorized an EF-2+, with winds that may have exceeded 110 miles per hour.

Woodridge police reported "no significant injuries" as of 7 a.m., but say there is "significant damage" and downed power lines in the village. Motorists were advised to stay clear of the affected area.

As of Monday morning, Naperville officials report that more than 120 homes sustained damage in the storm. Five people in Naperville were hospitalized, and 16 people were displaced from their homes, according to city officials.
