TINLEY PARK, IL — “I want to thank the Illinois Lottery for the best birthday gift ever!” Tinley Park resident Sue Swanson said when she presented her $1,050,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines. On October 2nd, her 68th birthday, Swanson bought three $1 Lucky Day Lotto Quick Pick tickets, one of which hit the jackpot. She won $1,050,000 when her ticket matched all five numbers – 08 - 19 - 35 - 36 - 45 – in the Monday, October 3rd, evening drawing.

Swanson was an elementary school teacher for Chicago Public Schools from 1970 until she retired in 2005. She has lived in Tinley Park for 25 years. She plans to donate to her favorite charities, complete home remodeling projects, and buy a new car.

“I will be so happy to get a brand new car because my car is 14 years old!” She also plans to get professional financial advice and make investments. “On my birthday, right after I bought my Lucky Day Lotto ticket, I read my horoscope and it said my dreams would come true.
