Man Shot In Head During Robbery In Tinley Park: Police

Around 4 a.m. Sunday, a Tinley Park resident was getting home from work when a man approached him demanding money.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park man was shot in the head early Sunday morning during a robbery, according to Tinley Park Police.

Police said the incident happened at a home in the 7800 block of Joliet Drive.

The man told police he was returning home just after 4 a.m. when another man wearing dark clothing and a black face covering approached him, demanding money. After what police called "a short scuffle," the man gave the robber money.

This is when police said the robber then fired one gun shot, grazing the victim’s head, before he fled with the cash. Police said the man was taken to Silver Cross Hospital, where he was treated and release.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident, and an investigation is underway.
