Meet The Kirby School District 140 School Board Candidates
Kirby School District 140 has a slate, incumbents, newcomers and write-ins all vying for votes in the April 6 school board race.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Consolidated Elections are just days away. Residents in Tinley Park will be given the opportunity to select a new mayor, clerk, school boards, library board, park district board and more.
While driving down the roads in Tinley Park you may see campaign signs appearing on lawns and on the edges of busy streets. Although residents can partake in early voting at the Village Hall — 16250 Oak Park Ave. — and other locations around suburban Cook County, many will traditionally vote on April 6.
The Kirby School District 140 school board oversees John A. Bannes, Fernway Park, Helen Keller, Christa McAuliffe, Millennium, Virgil I. Grissom and Prairie View schools. This race is one to watch, as six candidates are looking to claim a seat this April. Let's dive into the candidates.

The district also has a write-in candidate. For the past five years, Meagan Doornbos has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Palos South Middle School in District 118. Doornbos' name will not appear on the ballot, but she has been listed on the Cook County Clerk's website as an official write-in candidate. Residents will simply write her name in on the ballot if she is one of the four they choose to cast a vote for.
