Metra Rock Island Line To Experience Delays Due To Construction

TINLEY PARK, IL — Metra Rock Island riders can expect slight delays in the coming days as the transit service said construction is set to take place this weekend.

Beginning Friday, weekday and weekend construction will take place for track maintenance, causing minor delays at different times for those taking the Rock Island, Metra announced. The delays could be five or more minutes, and will run through Sunday.

On Friday, trains that may face traffic include the those leaving from Joliet to Chicago that take off between 4:10 p.m. and 3:49 p.m., and trains leaving the city to Joliet between 10:10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
