The Most Valuable Public Illinois Companies in 2016
Forbes Global 2000 list for 2016 includes 39 public companies with headquarters in Illinois.

A list of the world’s largest and most valuable public companies includes 39 from Illinois, according to a recent ranking by Forbes.
Forbes Global 2000 for 2016 ranks companies based on four metrics: sales, profits, assets and market value.

Each of the 2000 lists has a minimum cutoff value in order for a company to qualify: sales $4.9 billion, profits of $247.0 million, assets of $8.72 billion and market value of $4.92 billion. A company needs to qualify for at least one of the lists in order to be eligible for the final Global 2000 ranking. This year 3,400 companies were needed to fill out the four lists of 2000, each company qualifying for at least one of the lists.
With more than $96 billion in sales and a market value of $85.3 billion, the Boeing Company ranks as the most valuable public company in Illinois and No. 76 globally.
