MOTHER'S DAY FLOWERS during a pandemic of COVID-19

Never in our history of designing flowers for any day or any holiday have we ever had to work under such challenging circumstances. When the pandemic started with Covid-19 and the country went to "Stay at Home" all business for florists' came to a halt. Until the Governor of Illinois evaluated what we could and couldn't do, flowers could not be sold.

Mom's LOVE Flowers! It almost seems that since flowers were not readily available for deliveries to people, and that's a shame because flowers are known to help brighten up someone's day during these difficult times. If not for Mom, there are other special people that many send to on Mother's Day Week. We are seeing a huge upswing in Mother's Day orders already, I think people are ready for Floral Beauty!

Below is our new normal on how we operate our business...

1. NO CONTACT DELIVERIES (which means delivery to the porch of recipient)
We call recipient and tell them they have a special delivery.

2. CURBSIDE PICK UPS (customer calls us at Classy Flowers, place their order and Classy brings flowers outside of shop to car)

3. MASK & RUBBER GLOVES (how we deliver safely)

All Florists must have closed storefronts hopefully temporarily, all locked up and doing business over the phones, websites and curbside pickups. What a strange way of doing business but we are all making it work! We have to take many extra precautions inside the flower shop as well, frequent cleaning of work areas, hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial soaps are used daily. Social distancing is a must as well.

Of course, the ripple effect on our floral industry went crazy! All the flower farms were no longer selling flowers like they always had. Fields were plowed under, such a shame. Wholesalers could not provide anyone any certain varieties due to shortages. Things are starting to show somewhat of a new normal of daily business, being done in a much different way that any of us would have ever dreamed of. We ordered many many boxes of flowers in from all over the world. No matter what, we will have enough different varieties to make anyone receiving Mother's Day flowers or different occasions happy with beauty.
