MultiGP Drone Racing Comes to Matteson for the Regional Final #5

WHAT: Matteson, Ill. – Media day for the 2018 5th Regional MultiGP Drone Racing Championship will take place on Friday, September 21 at Matteson Community Center, Matteson, Ill. Regional MultiGP Drone Racing Championship is set to take place September 22-23 starting at 8:00 a.m. each day and running until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Drone racing pilots from around the world have been competing in local ‘Qualifier’ drone races working their way to the MultiGP Regional Finals. MultiGP is a global drone racing league that governs and manages radio-controlled drone racing events across the world and works with groups to grow the sport of drone racing.

You may be asking what is drone racing? It’s merely a drone in the air with a pilot controlling, maneuvering and flying the drone through an obstacle course. Drone racing is growing with 600 chapters of drone pilots. Eight quads fly at once utilizing skills of science, technology, engineering and math or S.T.E.M. to achieve and maintain flight all while racing. Anyone can fly a drone with the youngest age being eight years old, making this an extremely family-friendly sport.
