Odyssey Fun World Reopens After Coronavirus Shutdown
Social distancing and sanitation is strongly practiced at the outdoor park, while the status of the indoor park remains up in the air.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Just in time for the start of summer, the outdoor park at Odyssey Fun World is now open. It was closed for about three months due to the coronavirus pandemic and related Illinois shutdown restrictions but has been open now since earlier this month. As of June 23, the indoor park remains closed.
Social distancing reminders are in place "all over the park" at 19111 S. Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park, Odyssey Fun World Marketing Director Ryan Jacobs said.
Jacobs said he is "ecstatic" that the outdoor park has reopened, and about their deal offering four hours of unlimited go karts, mini golf, bumper boats and batting cages for $24.99.

Hand sanitizer will be available at sale points and near all attractions, Jacobs said. All bumper boats, go karts and mini golf/batting equipment is sanitized after each use.

"Employees are required to wear masks and have their temperature taken before each shift," Jacobs said. "Guests are shown the COVID-19 symptoms and are asked not enter if they are possibly experiencing any."

Masks are encouraged, but not required, for guests.
Still, all outdoor attractions except for the Inflatable Kidz Park are back. The park is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with tickets available here.
A decision on Odyssey's indoor park could come from park officials as early as Wednesday, Jacobs said. As part of this area moving onto Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, it could open Friday, June 26 for up to 50 people at a time.
But it might not be that easy.
"What we need to figure out is if it makes sense for us to open for 50 people or not with all the labor and operating costs we have," Jacobs said. "Also this would complicate things with how our outdoor park is currently operating. It would be very confusing to tell the customers outside that they could not come inside and vice versa."
