Pedestrian Struck by Car along Harlem Avenue Tuesday
The Tinley Park man was walking along the curb near 179th and Harlem Avenue Tuesday evening.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A 44-year-old Tinley Park man was struck Tuesday evening while walking along Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park.
Clifton Pappas was on foot on the northbound side of 17943 Harlem Harlem Avenue around 6 p.m., when he was hit by a car driven by Luba Hreczny, 77, of Michigan, also in the northbound lane.
There is no sidewalk in that area, Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer told Patch. A stretch of Harlem Avenue was closed while police investigated.

Pappas was transported with non-life threatening injuries to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Hreczny was charged with failure to exercise due care, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without insurance.
Hreczny was able to post bond.
