Rock Island Express Train Now In Effect
In a rush? Don't forget Metra's new express train at 80th Avenue is now running.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Your downtown commute may be a little faster: The Rock Island Metra's express train at 80th avenue is now running.
The inbound 408 train, which arrives at LaSalle Street at 7:22 a.m., has been converted into an express train from 80th Avenue with stops at Blue Island-Vermont St. and 35th St./“Lou” Jones.
The changes come as part of upgrades to accommodate a federally mandated system that immediately stops a train during emergencies.
