Man Who Fired Shots In Isolated Tinley Attack Still At Large
Tinley Park Police Chief Matthew Walsh said it's a miracle nobody was hurt.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Shots were fired in the area of 167th and Oak Forest Avenue in Tinley Park Wednesday morning, but didn't strike anyone, according to Tinley Park Police. The incident occurred at the 16700 block of Gentry Lane, just west of Oak Forest Avenue.
Tinley Park Police Chief Matthew Walsh told Patch Thursday morning that a couple was leaving their residence when a gray sedan pulled up next to them. The man in the sedan got out of the car, chasing the male target with a gun down Gentry Lane. The girlfriend ran in the opposite direction.
Walsh said the man began to fire rounds while chasing his target. The rounds struck a few buildings and cars, but nobody was hurt.

The chief said the suspect then got back in the car and drove off. Police traced the plate of the car back to a residence in Chicago, only to find the plate was stolen from another vehicle. The owner of the plate didn't realize it was missing.
Officials believe this to be an isolated incident, with the motive possibly regarding a money dispute. Walsh said that it's a "miracle" nobody was hurt.
