TINLEY PARK, IL — St. Coletta’s of Illinois Foundation is proud to announce their second annual Digital Dash, a 5k run/walk to support programs and services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each entry qualifies Dashers for a goodie bag, featuring a t-shirt and participation medal, along with the opportunity to submit their time for a prize. This is a virtual event, so Dasher’s can run, walk, scoot, crawl, or dash in an area of their choice.

Last year, over one hundred people from across the nation signed up to Dash for St. Coletta’s.

“I’m not a runner, but the Dash was a great excuse to get out of the house and go for a walk with my family. We even took the dog! It was a great way to spend the afternoon and an easy way to encourage my friends to learn more about St. Coletta’s and the amazing services we provide to disabled adults and children,” said Director of Development and Dasher Carrie Seida.

The sister of one St. Coletta’s participants, Sister Constance Kuczwara of Des Plaines, also joined in the Dash, enlisting the support of her fellow Sisters. Constance Kuczwara started her walk with “Blue Boy” (the name she has given her walker) and continued each day until she completed her 5K.

For those interested in the friendly competition, the top three men and women will receive recognition with a winner’s medal and gift certificate to Naperville Running Company. To submit their time for consideration, Dashers will just snap a picture of their smartwatch or tracking device and upload it to St. Coletta’s provided link. Fast or slow, each step will help make the difference to the 300 children and adults served at St. Coletta’s each day.
