Taste Of Tinley, Cruise Nights, Benches On The Avenue: Summer Fun
Tinley Park summer events include the new "Taste of Tinley" that will be featured at the annual block party this July.
TINLEY PARK, IL — The annual Tinley Park Block Party is slated to take place this July, if Cook County enters Phase 5 of its reopening plan, according to the village of Tinley Park.
The block party has a tropical theme this year, wanting participants to "celebrate like Islanders," on July 18, from noon to 7 p.m. It will be located on Oak Park Avenue in the Downtown Tinley Park area. This year, the event is going to feature a "Taste of Tinley," where local businesses and organizers can show out.
According to the village, all food on the menu must be tasting size and $4 or less. All menu items will be approved by the event organizers prior to the date. There will be as many as 17 food vendors.

The event is also planning to have tropical bands on two different stages. There will also be many free entertainment options for families.
The village is expecting an attendance of about 15,000 people throughout the day.

Also taking place this summer, the village will be hosting cruise nights. According to the village, the events are free, and will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 31, on along Oak Park Avenue from 171st Street to 173rd Place. Attendees can expect to see many classic cars, food, beverages and DJ entertainment.

Tinley Park residents can head out to the Downtown Tinley Farmers Market, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays from June 5 to Oct. 9 in Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park. Items available will be fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers.
Benches on the Avenue will take you though an “Album Cover Tour.” The benches on Oak Park Avenue in the Downtown Tinley area currently hold displays of some of the most iconic and memorable album covers of all time. The village said visitors to this year's benches can scan a QR code at each location to listen to a select song from the featured album.
The benches can be seen now until October, along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets. Artists found include Kiss, Fleetwood Mac, Chance the Rapper, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, the Weeknd, ZZ Top, among others.
