David Blessing, 49, was found dead underneath the utility task vehicle early Saturday in Starke County.

STARKE COUNTY, IN — A Tinley Park man was found dead underneath an off-road vehicle early Saturday along a Starke County road in northwest Indiana following an apparent accident, according to the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana. Conservation officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of David Blessing, 49, the report added.
Starke County sheriff's deputies responded to a call just after midnight Saturday, June 30, by an individual who noticed Blessing pinned beneath a 2017 Polaris side-by-side, utility task vehicle in the 5500 south block of County Road 700E, the report stated. Blessing was found dead when deputies reached the scene, and they called in conservation officers to investigate the incident, the report added.
According to investigators' preliminary findings, Blessing's vehicle was partly off the road as he traveled north, the report stated. The vehicle then apparently rolled on its side after hitting a sudden drop caused by a culvert under the road, the report added.
