Tinley Park HS Students Participate in 'J.A. in a Day'

TPHS Child Care II students taught Kindergarten-third graders

On May 19, Tinley Park High School juniors enrolled in Child Care II, participated in Junior Achievement at St. George Elementary School. Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in the global economy. The high school students participated in the “JA in a Day” program, where they spent the day teaching a class. Students taught lessons on the community, families, and financial literacy to Kindergarten-third graders. TPHS Child Care II teacher, Ms. Maggie O’Connor commented, “I really enjoyed seeing my students have the chance to get their feet wet in the field of teaching after a year of preparing with preschoolers. They truly experienced the day in the life of a teacher and were exhausted when they finished!”
