Tinley Park Kmart Will Close: Report

TINLEY PARK, IL — Kmart will soon close 64 stores across 28 states—and the Tinley Park location is among them.

Kmart employees learned of their stores' fates on Friday, Business Insider reports. Liquidation sales are set to begin September 22, with stores expected to shutter completely by mid-December.

Sears Holdings, which owns Kmart and Sears, announced in July that it would close 80 stores, many of which were Kmart. This round of closures reduces Kmart's presence to 870 stores, from about 1,300 in 2012.

The Tinley Park location is at 16300 Harlem Ave. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m, and Friday through Sunday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
