Tinley Man Died In Parked Car That Was Struck By Another: Wife

The wife of James Pavesich said her husband was in a parked car when it was struck by another car in University Park on Thursday.

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park man died Thursday as a result of a crash in University Park, the Will County Coroner's Office has confirmed. James Pavesich, 61, was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. March 5.

The coroner's office said Pavesich was the driver of a car that collided with another at the intersection of Central Avenue and Dralle Road in University Park. No other deaths have been reported as a result of the crash as of 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mikie Pavesich, James' wife, said the coroner's office told her that her husband was inside his parked vehicle near the intersection when the other car collided with his car.

Mikie Pavesich also said the driver of the car that collided into her husband's has been taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

As of earlier Thursday night, Will County Sheriff's police were reconstructing the crash as University Park police began an investigation.

An autopsy for Pavesich has been scheduled for Friday.
