TINLEY PARK, IL - The Tinley Park-Park District is looking for two businesses to sponsor its youth floor hockey teams' new championship cup.

Program coordinators are seeking two $500 contributions, or a single $1,000 donation to fund the creation of the grand prize. Sponsors' names will be prominently displayed on the base of the cup.

"Over the last several years, the Tinley Park-Park District’s youth floor hockey program has grown exponentially, calling for a new championship cup," said a park district press release. " ... This sponsorship provides your business with generous exposure to promote its product directly to its target market, while working with the Tinley Park-Park District to provide fun and recreation to the community."

Floor hockey is similar to regular ice hockey, in which two teams face off against each other. Instead of playing on an ice surface floor hockey is played in a gymnasium, giving children who cannot skate or are just starting out a chance to learn how to play the game, as well as play on a team. The Tinley Park league season kicks off Dec. 11 and is open to middle school children in sixth to eighth grades.

Those interested in sponsoring the local youth floor hockey program should call Greg Carter at 708-342-4254.
