The website, Homefacts, uses the Illinois sex offenders’ registry to track registered sex offenders for every 10,000 people in each county.

According to their latest data, there are a total of 29,475 Illinois sex offenders registered in the state which is a ratio of 22.89 offenders for every 10,000 residents.

The ratio of Illinois sex offenders per capita is slightly higher than last year’s 21.63 per 10,000 people. This ratio is much higher than the national figure of 14.01 offenders per 10,000 Americans.
