Top 25 Safest Illinois Colleges in 2016

Incoming college students have plenty of things to keep in mind when picking a school — like cost, location and quality — but as incidents of sexual assaults grow on college campuses, some people believe campus safety also should be a top concern.

To figure out which colleges are providing a safe campus environment for students, Niche studied more than 1,600 schools across the country, focusing on factors like campus crime rates, local crime analysis, alcohol- and drug-related arrests and student opinions.

Here are the Top 25 safest Illinois colleges from Niche's ranking — including one school that made it among the Top 10 nationally.
