Tornado Warning Issued for Parts of Cook, Will Counties

A tornado warning has been issued until 5:15 p.m. for parts of Cook and Will Counties. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado has been spotted near Frankfort just west of I-57, moving east at 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm will be near Richton Park and Monee around 5 p.m., University Park around 5:05 p.m., Matteson and Olympia Fields around 5:10 p.m., and Flossmoor around 5:15 p.m.

Residents are advised to take cover or get to a lower level of a building. A possible funnel cloud has been sighted.
