Tropical Smoothie Cafe Brings a Smile to St. Coletta’s DSPs
St. Coletta's front-line heroes are rewarded with a free smoothie card for their selfless work caring for residential participants.

Tinley Park, IL: Since the shelter-in-place order took effect in March, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have worked around the clock to ensure that the residential participants of St. Coletta’s of Illinois are healthy, well-cared for, and safe. Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Tinley Park has taken notice and is rewarding St. Coletta’s hard-working DSPs with a ‘Thank You’ treat of free smoothies. Each DSP will receive a card they are able to redeem at Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Tinley Park when they are ready for their reward.
“At Tropical Smoothie Cafe, we know our safety is dependent upon the selfless, hard work of our local healthcare workers and first responders and we want to help them in any way we can. We’d like to thank the team at St. Coletta’s of Illinois and show our gratitude with our free smoothie giveaway as we hope to bring a smile to their face – one sip at a time,” states Phil Knippen, Tropical Smoothie Cafe Franchise Owner.
DSPs carry out essential services such as cooking, cleaning, and medication distribution for 140 adult participants that reside in St. Coletta’s residential group homes. In addition to keeping participants entertained, DSPs have selflessly been on the front lines, working hard to ensure the health and safety of those that St. Coletta’s serves. From wearing masks each day to prevent exposure to the virus, to constant disinfecting and cleaning, DSPs continue to carry on our mission.
