Two New Starbucks Locations Coming To Tinley Park

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park is about to brew another two Starbucks coffee shops on 171st Street. This will total to five locations within the village for the multinational chain.

The Village of Tinley Park Board of Trustees approved of a rezoning amendment for the property currently under construction from 17120 to 17126 Harlem Avenue on Tuesday. When completed, the constructed building will be 7,422 sq. ft with three tenant spots and a Starbucks drive-thru.

Another Starbucks location will appear at the former MD Financial/Fifth-Third Bank site located within the Park Hills Towne Center on 171st Street between LaGrange Road and 94th Avenue. This site will be around 5,593 sq. ft. in total size, with 5,241 sq. ft. as leasable space. The Starbucks will use approximately 2,364 sq. ft. of the leasable floor space, according to village documents.

The LaGrange Road spot will require the removal of the rear canopy area to make room for the installation of a drive-thru and patio seating. The Harlem Avenue location will also hold a 7-Eleven convenience store and gas station connected by parking lot, just North of the coffee shop.

The retail centers are both being constructed by Chicago-based retail developer, Vequity. The developers have worked on other projects involving Starbucks in the past, including its most recent opening of a freestanding shop located at 3316 S. Cicero Ave., in Cicero. Vequity has also developed 7-Eleven/gas station combinations in the past, including a complete renovation of a former gas station with new fueling components in August 2020, located at 10 S. Randall Road in Algonquin.

Tenants in the Towne Center, located just off of LaGrange Road, include CVS Pharmacy and restaurants Lou Malnati's and Frankie’s Ristorante, among other tenants — such as World Star Nails.

These two locations will bring the Starbucks count in Tinley Park to five. Other Starbucks locations in town include the popular 15901 Harlem Ave., and the in-house café's in Jewel Osco on 171st Street and retailer Target, located just off of 191st Street.
