The biggest challenge for a business startup like Matchup is finding great people to employ, says CEO and co-founder John Contreras. Companies are looking for talented developers who can build engaging tools on mobile and online platforms, and Contreras spent a lot of time growing his staff and turning them into qualified and passionate engineers. The other challenge Matchup faced was raising money. It was important for Contreras to create a compelling narrative about why he wanted to start Matchup. This gave investors a reason to pony up the cash needed to get the business off the ground.
