Who Did Suburban Cook County Voters Pick for President?
The majority of Cook County voters selected Hillary Clinton.

Voters in Cook County selected Hillary Clinton as their choice for president on Tuesday.
With unofficial results in, over 65 percent of the county’s voters, which amounted to 679,297 people, selected democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton when they headed out to the polls on Tuesday while only 30 percent — or 312,176 people — voted for president-elect Donald Trump. Just over 3 percent of the remaining voters—33,214 people—picked libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and 1.37 percent selected Green party candidate Jill Stein, according to unofficial results posted on the Cook County Clerk’s Office website.
Cook County joined the majority of suburban collar counties in picking Clinton, who grew up in Park Ridge, for president. McHenry County was the only county that favored Trump.

In addition, an overwhelming number of voters across the state of Illinois picked Clinton on Tuesday -- with 55 percent of total voters in Illinois selecting Clinton over the 39 percent who picked Trump. The win in Illinois gave her 20 electoral votes, but not enough as Trump would go on to win the electoral vote across the nation. He was declared president-elect early Wednesday.

McHenry County
- Donald Trump: 71,117 votes, which was nearly 50 percent of the total vote
- Hillary Clinton: 59,827 votes, which was 42.04 percent of the vote
Kane County
- Hillary Clinton: 80,981 votes, which was 47.49 percent of the vote
- Donald Trump: 74,926 votes, which was 43.57 percent of the vote
DuPage County
- Hillary Clinton: 222,499, which was 52.77 percent of the vote
- Donald Trump: 164,355, which was 39.98 percent of the vote
Will County
- Hillary Clinton: 146,230 votes, which was 49.62 percent of the total vote
- Donald Trump: 129,726, which was 44.02 percent of the total vote
