3 Arrested In Long Grove Roadway Robbery And Battery
Two men and a woman from Waukegan were arrested on warrants Friday at their apartment, according to the Lake County Sheriff's office.
LONG GROVE, IL — Members with the Lake County Sheriff's office Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service — Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) arrested a woman and two men from Waukegan Friday as the result of an investigation into a Jan. 25 robbery, aggravated battery and unlawful restraint incident on a roadway in Long Grove. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, deputies took a report on Jan. 25 regarding an 18-year-old woman who was beaten and robbed. The investigation showed the woman went to a party at a Mundelein hotel with Jovanni Mora, 21, Neslye Y. Palacios-Flores, 23, and Juan A. Colon, 24, all from the 400 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Waukegan.
After being involved in an argument, the young woman requested a ride to her Arlington Heights home, the sheriff's office said. Mora and Colon, who are documented street gang members, and Palacios-Flores gave her a ride, but devised a plan to rob her, according to the news release.
The three pulled the car over in a secluded area near Arlington Heights Road and Checker Road in Long Grove, where the woman was forced out of the car, and punched and kicked in the head and body, according to the news release. During the attack, money was stolen from the woman's pockets and she was forced back into the car, the sheriff's office said.

During a short drive, the car slid off the road and into a ditch, and Colon and Mora got out of the car to push it out. The woman got out of the car, ran away and flagged down a passing motorist, according to the sheriff's office, adding that she also requested medical help.
Sheriff’s detectives got arrest warrants for the three Waukegan adults on Feb. 26 for accusations of robbery, aggravated battery, and unlawful restraint, according to the news release.

On March 6, 2020, members of the Lake County Sheriff's office Warrants Team got information the three adults were living together a South Martin Luther King Drive apartment, and went to serve the warrants.
Accoriding to the news release, deputies started knocking on the apartment door and heard the three wanted adults talking about stalling the deputies to make an escape plan. Warrants team deputies then saw Colon try to escape out of a first-story window, but he retreated and was confronted by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.
The warrants team forced their way into the apartment and arrested all three of them, and also arrested a teen boy inside the apartment on an unreleated juvenile warrant, the sheriff's office said.
Mora, Colon, and Palacios-Flores were taken to the Lake County Jail, and are still there as of Monday afternoon. Bond for Palacios-Flores was set at 10 percent of $50,000, and her next court date is listed by the sheriff's office as March 11. Bond for Mora was set at 10 percent of $100,000, and his next court date is listed by the sheriff's office as March 25, the same date as Colon's, whose bond was set at 10 percent of $125,000.00.
The juvenile was taken to the Hulse Juvenile Justice facility near Vernon Hills, the sheriff's office said.
