Bears Hold Free Practice At Vernon Hills High School Stadium

The training camp practice will take place on Aug. 22.

The Chicago Bears will hold a training camp practice at Vernon Hills High School's Rust-Oleum Field on Aug. 22. The event is free and open to the public as part of the"Varsity Bears" outreach program, the Daily Herald reports. Gates and parking will open at 4 p.m. and the Bears players are expected to arrive in uniform for practice at 6 with practice continuing until 8:50 p.m.

While the event is free, tickets are needed. More information on the event is expected to be released in the coming weeks on the Chicago Bears website.

The event is expected to be popular, with standing-room only inside the stadium, and Vernon Hills Police Chief estimates there will be 5,000 will stop out. He said the biggest challenge will be parking and traffic, the Daily Herald reports. The American Hotel Register will be opening up its 1,000-space lot to allow for extra parking and there are 500 spaces available at the high school and behind the stadium.
