Cohen Brothers Judo Club Wins National Championships
Cohen Brothers Judo club won the USA JUDO Jr. US OPEN in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Bringing boys and girls from ages 6-20 years old
Cohen Brothers Judo Club based out of Vernon Hills, Illinois is one of the best clubs in the country. Coached by RJ & Aaron Cohen, son of 1972 Olympian Irwin Cohen.
The team just arrived home from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where they brought 30 members of their club to compete in the USA Judo Jr. US Open which is an International Competition thats hosts over 650 athletes from over 28 different countries including Israel, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, Russia and Brazil.
The club had 5 champions including Danielle Pekler (Vernon Hills), Ben Shvartsman (Deerfield) who was also named the Most Outstanding Judo Athlete of the whole Competition, Jack Rice (Lake Bluff), Mary Minogue (Chicago) & Ellie Keen (Twin Lakes). Ellie also will be traveling to Sarajevo, Bosnia on August 2 to represent USA in the Cadet (U17) World Championships & Abu Dhabi on October 22 in the Jr. (U21) World Championships.

BRONZE MEDALS:
Zoe Crecos, Maya Crecos, Adrian Cohen, Tagg Miller, Alex Shvartsman, Adam Bradt
Next up for the club will be mostly technical training to start to prepare for a very strong competition hosted by close friend 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist Jason Morris called the Morris Cup in upstate New York.
