Philly G's Restaurant Closes After 11 Years
The Italian eatery served its last meal this past weekend.

Philly G's restaurant in Vernon Hills has closed its doors after 11 years of business.
The Italian restaurant, at 1252 E. Route 45, served its last meal Saturday, co-owner Phil Gilardi said in the story by the Daily Herald.
Phil Gilardi took over Gilardi's, the original restaurant that opened in 1985. Gilardi renamed it in 2005 and ran it with his wife, Tina, and uncle, Dan Sullivan.
"It was a place my family grew up in," he said in the story.
Gilardi declined to elaborate on the restaurant closing but said its end has been coming for some time and thanked his customers for "30 years of loyal patronage."
