One way to stay informed about important Village news is to sign up for the Blackboard Connect "Reverse 911" service. This communication tool is used to provide information of an emergency or extremely time-bound nature – for instance, information about unexpected road closures, water issues, downed power lines, or evacuation procedures. Please visit the Village's Blackboard Connect website (https://vernonhills.bbcportal.com/Entry) to set up and manage your Reverse 911 messages. You may choose to receive message via text or voice to cell phones, work phones and emails. 

Please note that because we are no longer a landline society with one telephone provider, the Village does not have access to everyone's contact information – which is why it becomes important for you to take the time to sign up to receive these important emergency message.
