Memorial Day RemembrancesAmerican Legion Post 1247 will salute US Armed Forces Veterans with Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday, May 31, at the following locations:

Memorial Day Remembrances 9 a.m. – Vernon Township Cemetery 10 a.m. – Willow Lawn Memorial Park 11 a.m. – Vernon Hills Memorial Arbortheater

Ceremonies will be respectful, but brief. Social distancing will be observed.

Volunteer for Flag Placement

Volunteer for Flag Placement

Additionally, Post 1247 will be placing flags on Veteran's graves in anticipation of Memorial Day at the above mentioned cemeteries. Volunteers from the public are invited to join with post members on Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. at Vernon Township Cemetery and Saturday, May 29 at 9 a.m. at Willow Lawn Memorial Park to assist with the placement of flags.

Please note that Memorial Day, May 31, is a federal holiday. Many businesses and organizations (including Village Hall and Public Works) will be closed. Services such as garbage collection will be adjusted one day later.
