10 Chicago Mayoral Candidates To Participate In Forum
The forum will focus on how to boost Chicago's marginalized communities.

CHICAGO — More than 1,000 community members are expected to attend a Chicago mayoral candidates forum on the city's West Side this Saturday, Jan. 12. The event will be held at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Road, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The forum will be hosted by One Chicago for All Alliance, a group of 30 community-based organizations and workforce development agencies representing 26 neighborhoods in the city.
"This forum will provide an opportunity for mayoral candidates to share their plans for supporting Chicago's low-moderate income communities that have been largely left out of the economic growth occurring elsewhere," the One Chicago for All Alliance said in a statement.

Candidates will be asked to offer their vision for the neighborhoods. They will be encouraged to share concrete plans to increase neighborhood access to job opportunities, accessible capital, stable and affordable housing, quality and equitably-funded education, support for immigrants and reformed policing, organizers said.
Forum participants will be asked to briefly answer four questions during the event. They will also have the opportunity to make a brief concluding statement.
