31-Year-Old Faces First-Degree Murder Charge After Near West Side Shooting
An Austin man has been arrested in connection with the June murder of a 41-year-old.

CHICAGO – A 31-year-old Austin man was arrested this past week in connection with the June Near West Side murder of a 41-year-old.
Police took Albert D. Robinson, of the 5200 block of West Potomac Avenue, into custody around 11:25 a.m. on July 11. He was charged with violating parole and one felony count of first-degree murder.
Robinson was allegedly identified as being the armed male offender who shot the male victim “multiple times in the face and body” around 3:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of West Maypole Avenue, just a few blocks north of the United Center.

“The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries,” police said. “Robinson was arrested outside of his residence, without incident.”
Robinson appeared in Central Bond Court last week. No further details were available on Friday afternoon.
