Daniel Biss Endorsed By West Side Alderman
Chicago 26th Ward Ald. Roberto Maldonado has endorsed State Sen. Daniel Biss for governor.

CHICAGO, IL - Roberto Maldonado, a West Side alderman who represents Humboldt Park and parts of other city neighborhoods on the Chicago City Council, has made public his endorsement for the 2018 Illinois Governor's race. Maldonado, the city's 26th Ward alderman, will support State Sen. Daniel Biss, a Democratic hopeful for the state's top office from Evanston.
"Daniel Biss is the candidate I trust to fight for my community," Maldonado wrote in a news release to 26th Ward residents last week. "Working families, immigrants, and people of color in my ward face profound threats from the (Donald) Trump administration and (Bruce) Rauner has failed to bring the opportunity and security we need."
Specifically, Maldonado mentioned Biss' "organizing around the TRUST Act," "preventing insurance companies from discriminating against people with preexisting conditions" and "passing the Student Loan Bill of Rights to protect students and families from predatory lenders" as reasons for others to join him in support.

Biss seeks the Democratic nomination for Governor along with Bob Daiber, Tio Hardiman, Chris Kennedy, Robert Marshall, Alex Paterakis and J.B. Pritzker.
