Gun Shots Fired Near 2300 Block of S. 21st Avenue, No Injuries
Broadview Police put E.F. Lindop Elementary School, 2400 S. 18th Avenue in Broadview, on a brief, soft lockdown.

(Broadview, IL) – Gun shots were reported to the Broadview Police Department on Thursday afternoon near the 2300 block of S. 21st Avenue. There no were no injuries, according to police officials.
At 2:54pm on April 22, the Broadview Police Department dispatch began receiving multiple calls of shots fired near the 2300 block of S. 21st Avenue. Officers arrived almost immediately on the scene.
Witnesses reported a possibly blue colored car had pulled near a parked car and at least one person jumped out from the blue car and started shooting at two individuals seated inside the parked vehicle, but neither was struck and neither are Broadview residents.

Loyola Hospital has advised officers that they have had no gun-shot victims in the ER at this time.
Broadview Police put E.F. Lindop Elementary School, 2400 S. 18th Avenue in Broadview, on a brief, soft lockdown and lifted the lockdown at 3:45pm after officers determined that the threat had passed.

“I want to thank Broadview police officers for their swift response to the shooting incident this afternoon and their decision, out of an abundance caution, to place Lindop Elementary School on a temporary, soft lockdown,” said Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson. “The officers’ professionalism and training were on full display today.”
Officers are currently canvassing the area and speaking with residents.
No offenders have been located at this time.
