Humboldt Park Artist Paints West Side Aquarium Mural

A Chicago artist has been hired by the Shedd Aquarium to paint the mural at Spilt Milk.

CHICAGO, IL — A Humboldt Park artist has begun a mural in Logan Square that will be up all summer. The mural is reflective of a new exhibit at Shedd Aquarium – Underwater Beauty. Artist Jason Brammer is using vibrant colors to inspire awe for the underwater world.

“We envision people being drawn to the realism, vibrancy and depth of the mural from a distance to get a closer look, and taking pictures in front of the mural with fish swirling around them on either side,” Brammer said.

The mural, which is going up outside Split Milk at 2758 W Fullerton Avenue, will highlight "diversity and incredible aquatic adaptations including shimmering fish, bold patterns and vibrant colors," said Shedd Aquarium representative Johnny Ford.
