I-290 Pileup Sends 6 to Local Hospitals

The accident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

CHICAGO, IL — A five-car pileup on I-290 Sunday evening sent six people to local hospitals. The accident took place on Chicago's West Side near Ashland Avenue around 8:30 p.m., according to State Police.

Two people in fair condition went to Stroger Hospital; two in fair condition went to University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital; one person in fair condition and one in good condition were taken to Rush University Medical Center, according to the Chicago Fire Department. One person declined ambulance transport.

The injuries were not serious.
