Lang Boosts Del Galdo Law Firm Government Affairs Operations
Lang will help municipal and school district clients and other local government clients better navigate Springfield
(Chicago) – The Chicago-based Del Galdo Law Group has strengthened its government affairs operation by expanding the firm’s “of counsel” role of former Illinois House Deputy Majority Leader Lou Lang (D-Skokie) to include state government public policy.
Lang, a 16-term lawmaker who has been “of counsel” at the Del Galdo Law Group since August 2017 and who resigned his legislative seat on January 7 to enter private practice, will expand the Del Galdo Law Group’s role in Springfield, according to the firm’s founder and managing partner.
“Rep. Lang’s ‘of counsel’ role at the law firm will deepen to include legislative and regulatory consulting for the Del Galdo Law Group’s existing and new clients,” said Michael Del Galdo. “Rep. Lang’s more than 30-years of experience and relationships will help our municipal and school district clients and other local government clients better navigate Springfield and communicate to key decision makers.”

During his long legislative career, Lang developed expertise in multiple public policy areas championing such legislation as gaming expansion, medical marijuana, capital infrastructure investment, opioid addiction treatment, insurance, utilities, as well as local government finance and regulatory relief.
“For more than 30 years, I worked with my local municipalities, school districts, park districts, townships and others to help fix their problems and advance their interests,” said Lang. “Knowledge of municipal finance from a state legislative perspective will be particularly important as new mayors and city councils or board of trustees and school boards take office after the spring 2019 local elections.”

Though Lang gave up his House seat to pursue private sector consulting, he will keep his posts as the Niles Township Democratic Committeeman and Executive Vice Chairman of the Cook County Democratic Party.
The Del Galdo Law Group serves as the general counsel or special counsel to more than 50 units of local government in Illinois.
