McDonald's Plans Corporate Layoffs: Report
The company will cut jobs in field offices across the country, according to a report.

CHICAGO, IL — Just days after McDonald's unveiled its new $250 million West Loop headquarters in Chicago, the company plans to downsize offices in the U.S., according to a report. McDonald's sent an email to franchisees, employees and suppliers notifying them of the cutbacks Wednesday, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
“I recognize that change is difficult, and that eliminating layers within our organization means some employees will ultimately exit our system,” McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski said in the memo, according to the WSJ report.
The number of employees who will be affected has not been released, but Kempczinski said further details would be offered during a town hall meeting on June 12, according to the report.
