New Logan Square Coffee Shop Donates Net Proceeds To Charity
The new shop is the first coffee bar in the world that will donate 100% of its net proceeds to suicide prevention, its founder said.

CHICAGO, IL — The new coffee shop Sip of Hope held its grand opening Thursday in Logan Square. Senator Dick Durbin and other community leaders attended the opening celebration at 3039 W. Fullerton Avenue. Sip of Hope is the first coffee shop in the world that will donate all of its net profits to fund suicide prevention and mental health education, its founder said.
The shop is the brainchild of Hope for the Day founder Jonny Boucher. The non-profit works to prevent suicides through providing outreach and mental health education.
Boucher said all shop staff and volunteers are certified in Mental Health First Aid and will help connect community members with local mental health resources.

"Starting the conversation over a cup of coffee seems like a natural way to begin the process of taking the stigma away from mental health conditions," Boucher stated in a 32nd Ward newsletter.
Sip of Hope serves Dark Matter Coffee and baked goods from West Town Bakery.
