New Sculptures To Go Up In Wicker Park, Bucktown
New public art installations are popping up as part of the Chicago Sculpture Exhibit.

CHICAGO, IL — Five new sculptures will soon be seen at Wicker Park and Bucktown's busiest intersections as part of the Chicago Sculpture Exhibit 2018. Funded by Wicker Park Bucktown Special Service Area #33, The artwork was created by local artists Andrew Aravantes, Jacob Burmood, Nathan Pierce and Richard Taylor. Installation of the sculptures will be completed by the first week of June, organizers said.
The artwork will go up in the following locations:
- The corner of Damen Avenue and Wicker Park Avenue: Andrew Aravantes’ Seeking Shelter.
- The Western Blue Line entrance near the corner of Milwaukee Avenue: Jacob Burmood’s Depth of Form
- The corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Leavitt Street in front of the 606 entrance: Richard Taylor’s Caressed by The Moon.
- The corner of North Avenue and Honore Street: Nathan Pierce’s Homespun.
- Walsh Park: Nathan Pierce’s Sweet Pea.
“With these new sculptures, we’re honoring the long tradition of public art in the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods,” said WPB SSA Commission Chair Brent Norsman in a statement. “Supporting public art is part of our ongoing placemaking and beautification programs, which help keep the neighborhoods vibrant year-round.”

The Chicago Sculpture Exhibit is a not-for-profit that exhibits large-scale public art on a temporary basis, with sculptures displayed throughout Chicago neighborhoods.
