Unleashed Dogs At Park Are 'Increasing Problem': Neighbor
Unleashed dogs can mean a fine of up to $10,000 if there's an incident.

WEST SIDE, CHICAGO — Police were called twice to Maplewood Park this week, according to reports, for a group of dog owners who regularly allow their dogs to play off leash at the park.
Soon before 6 p.m. Tuesday, a police officer pulled up to Maplewood Park. Block Club Chicago reported there were six unleashed dogs at the time, but an owner noticed the car and warned the others to leash their dogs before the cop showed up.
The officer didn't comment, but Block Club reports they told the dog owners to keep them leashed.

If there's an incident that happened because a dog isn't leashed, the owner can be fined $300 if there isn't "severe injury or death to any person or damage to another person’s property," and between $1,000 and $10,000 if there is such injury, death or damage.
An annoyed neighbor said she was the one who made the call, Block Club reports. She said the park is a "destination" for dog owners.

She called for police both on Monday and Tuesday, the report said. It's an "increasing problem," she said.
