Council Approves Subdivision More Than 8 Years in the Making
The long-delayed Northridge Estates will bring 12 single-family homes to Wheaton's NW side. Construction will begin late summer.

The Wheaton City Council last week finally approved plans for a northwest side housing development that’s been more than eight years in the making.
The green light was given to begin construction on the 12 single-family houses that will make up the Northridge Estates subdivision, a five-acre parcel at 0N410 Gary Avenue, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Naperville’s K. Hovnanian Homes plans to start building later in the summer, the report stated. The builders also will be extending Falcon Drive to the north and connect it to Northridge Court, a new street, the report added.
Approval for the initial plans for Northridge Estates was given in the spring of 2007, but the land was sold by the original developers once the housing downturn hit, the report stated.
