DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — A cluster of 84 homes known as the Trillium Farm subdivision has gotten the go-ahead to build in the former site of Planter's Palette nursery in DuPage County. The development got the green light to build by a 10-6 vote from DuPage County Board members Tuesday for a conditional use permit, despite ongoing resistance from residents, according to Daily Herald.

The Planter's Palette closed its 40-acre property in 2019 after being in business for more than four decades. Trillium Farm, which is a Pulte Homes project, would occupy about 35 of those acres near Gary Mills and Purnell Roads with age-restricted housing. Those who favor the development hope the age-restricted residences will help address traffic concerns in the area. Other traffic management measures, including radar cameras, were brought up as options.

According to Daily Herald, traffic was the biggest concern with the Trillium Farm development and dozens of residents came to the meeting to express that.
