Wheaton Among 'Safest Small Cities' In U.S.: Security Company

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton was recently recognized as one of the safest small cities in the United States. The city came in at number #19 in a recent study by home security business Frontpoint, which ranked the 50 "Safest Small Cities in America."

The study analyzed crime data from a 2017 FBI report to rank cities with populations between 50,000 and 75,000 residents. The cities were ranked on per capita reports of burglary, car theft, and other crimes.

Wheaton wasn't the only Illinois city that made it into the top 20 safest small cities in America. In fact, Palatine and Hoffman Estates came in at #12 and #17 respectively.
