Affordable Housing Group Buys Wilmette Legion Post Building

The sale was made last month for $464,000.

The American Legion Wilmette Post 46 sold its former headquarters to Northbrook-based Housing Opportunity Development Corporation this week for $464,000.

The sale to the affordable housing developer is being touted as “a positive step for the legion and for the village,” according to the Wilmette Life.

The property went on the market for $650,000 in February and underwent a pair of price reductions before the sale.
