Ketchup Royalty Buys Home In Wilmette

The president of ketchup at Kraft Heinz paid $2 million for a home on Iroquois Road.

Eduardo Luz and his wife, Malena, paid 10 percent less for the home on Iroquois Road than the people they bought it from when they purchased it in 2006, according to a report from Crain’s Chicago.

Luz worked with the Heinz corporation in Pittsburgh before the ketchup-making giant merged with Kraft Heinz, a company that has dual headquarters in the Steel City and the Aon Center in Chicago.

The purchase was made in November, but the Cook County recorder of deeds just made the information public this month, Crain’s reported. The home has classic North Shore amenities, such as a swimming pool, modern kitchen and four fireplaces.

Since the merger with Kraft, Luz has served as the company’s president of ketchup, condiments, sauces, dressings and frozen business.
