Lakefront Mansion Planned Across from Baha'i Temple
Plans for 1.6-acre property on Sheridan Road have yet to be approved.

The owner of a property across the street from the Baha’i Temple in Wilmette has plans to build a mansion that will dwarf the sizes of the two already in existence just north and south of the property.
Evanston-based lawyer Frank Nicholas is seeking a permit for a 21,900-square-foot house with a boat garage, greenhouse and amoeba-shaped indoor pool, according to Crain’s Chicago. Nicholas paid $8.6 million for the 1.6-acre property that borders two owned by Chicago Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts.
Although Wilmette officials have yet to approve the plans, early indications are that the total investment in the project could be in the area of $15 million.
